ABOUT

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

My belief is that the therapeutic relationship works best as a genuine, authentic relationship. My style is very warm, compassionate, and direct. I use a collaborative approach and work with each client individually to set goals, develop the skills to meet those goals, and ultimately live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

EXPERIENCE

I received my Doctorate of Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I developed a strong background in health psychology and evidenced-based practices. My program specialized in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety disorders and I received extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) during a two-year training placement working with individuals with chronic health issues, long-term depression, and borderline personality disorder. I received specialty training working with the university population during my internship at University at Buffalo Counseling Services. As a post-doctoral fellow at Stony Brook University, I further advanced my clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and stress management and resilience training. As a licensed psychologist, I received my certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In practice, I utilize an integrative approach of these evidence-based practices to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each client. My areas of specialty include working with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, adult children of emotionally immature parents, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), healing from narcissistic abuse, chronic illnesses, and women’s health issues.
